Celebrating The Island: Purple Paint

Heya' Islanders!

The Island is less than a month away from officially closing for good, in favor of its successor, Destination Island.

To celebrate The Island's history, we are taking a look back at some memorable, important moments that have happened over the last 15 years.

Today, we are taking a look back before The Island even was "The Island" - January 2011. Back then, each room belonged to a colored Crab, and it was known as a "Crab Party".

Very few users got to experience this, but the moments leading up to The Island were special. In January 2011, the Crab Party had random purple paint buckets scattered around. Following each one would lead you to the brand new Purple Crab, located at the brand new Purple Crab Room, which, astonishingly, the image for it is not lost!

The players got to "adopt" the Purple Crab for the first time ever, joining the original Green, Red, Blue, Brown, Gray, Orange, Yellow, White, and Pink Crabs.

Of course, it is a known fact that the Purple Crabs carefully crafted players a boat to use to travel to what we know now as The Island, where it eventually opened one month later on February 28th, 2011.

Stay tuned April 26th for our next "Celebrating The Island" blog post!
