Today is The Island's 9th birthday! Unbelievable... The Island has been a thing for NINE years now!!! I really can't believe that. It seems like just yesterday I drew the very first room for the party- The Pet Shop!
What you are about to read was on The Island's original blog, and this was posted on January 25th, 2019, so you might've seen this already, but I can't put any other words on how great this party was to me. Fellys, our NUMBER ONE party, the BEST PARTY OF THE ISLAND!...

The Sky Festival 2012!
Why is it the best, you may ask?
Here are some reasons.
The Time
The Sky Festival 2012 began February 5th, and ended on February 10th, 2012.
2012 was my favorite year for The Island, because it was when TI was most popular, and because of certain parties like this one. The Sky Fest also was in February, which is one of my favorite months, plus it was early on in 2012, too, which is just the start of, in my opinion, the fantastic year.
The Story
The Sky Festival 2012 had a story, which was rare for parties in 2011 - 2012. The story goes like this: A hurricane was headed towards The Island, so we started placing balloons all over The Island to help lift it up- When it was lifting, the land started tipping over, as the Shopping Center, Downtown, and Ogle Dock side of the land broke off. At the Shopping Center, we placed anvils to help keep it lower than usual, before it would go completely into space. We ended up dodging the hurricane which would become the Wind Dojo 9 days after the party ended.
The Decorations
The decorations for the party were simple: It was similar to the Sky Fest 2011, except that more rooms were focused on Space.
Rooms like the Shopping Center, Downtown, Ogle Dock, and the Shore appeared darker since they were higher up towards Space, and you could even float freely around the rooms.
Decorations were also cool because of the exteriors. For example, the Crab Sticker Shop was shaped like a Rocket, and the Green Crab Sign on it was dressed as an Astronaut.
At the Shopping Center, the Store was shaped like a sci-fi-like space station, with a lever being visible through the round window on the top floor.
At the Shore, you got a really good view of the moon, and the Crab we discovered on it (Which we’ll get to later.), and you could also go sky diving to the water, grab a Rocket Jacket, and even… Uh… Check out the floating boxes!
At Ogle Dock, you’d find yourself seeing the Weirdo Plane. I remember being asked back at the party why it was called the Weirdo Plane, and the answer was it’s not FOR weirdos, it’s a Weirdo Plane, meaning it looks weird. In this room, you could also look down from the lake to see Nibiru!
First Look at Space
Before the party, we couldn’t really see or know what space had to offer for The Island. During this party, you could either check out the Lighthouse, which served as an observation deck floating in Space, with a cool large propeller, or, you could fly to the Moon from the rocket ship located at the Town! Which leads to my next reason…
Operation Crabby
Operation Crabby is a secret operation by the former secret agency, “VTM”, which wasn’t very secret, to be honest. This operation was to “rescue” what we thought were sad Light Blue Crabs stranded in space, somehow. It turned out these Crabs preferred to live in space, but they decided to join us down on The Island, and Blade had built a new machine which helped clone the Crabs so we could adopt more!
The Variety
As a miscellaneous reason, I decided to list the variety of stuff you can do for the party in general. At the Arcade, you could operate the Storm Maker 3,000, which simulated storms such as fires, lava, lightning, tsunami, meteor, or a hurricane in the square box mini-village!
At the Pet Shop Patio, the Sun Dance returned from the Sky Fest 2011, and you could dance and celebrate the sun!
At the Dance Club, you can dance on either the Day Side, or the Night Side! If sky diving at the Shore was too lame for you, you could also sky dive from inside the Dance Club!
