The Island Throwback Thursday: Crab Lounge History!

Today, we look at the history of the Crab Lounge.

The current Crab Lounge design, which was introduced on November 3rd, 2015.

The Crab Lounge opened on April 1st, 2011, and you may be wondering... Was it originally an April Fools joke? Well, let me explain:

Back in early 2011, I asked the TI staff member "BlueyTI" what we should do for The Island's first April Fools' Party, and he suggested doing a Crab Lounge, misunderstanding the question. And then I thought, "Hey, that's actually not a bad idea." And to this day, the Crab Lounge exists!

Once construction was finished

The Crab Lounge was decorated for some parties, such as becoming an oil mill at the Medieval Party, a pumpkin patch at the Halloween Party in 2011, and even a ninja training center at the Festival of Fire.
