On today's Island Throwback, we'll be checking out The Island's old background advertisements!
If you don't know what "background advertisements" are, they were shown at the Island Central back when The Island was a chat based game. The advertisements would promote upcoming parties and events that The Island was about to have, and would only show up behind the chat at the Island Central, and these were changed very often from since 2011 before being replaced by Login Advertisements in 2019.
Let's look back at some of the old background ads, shall we?
This is one of the oldest background ads, from July 2011, advertising the month of July for members of TI. It shows Nedd playing his banjo on a stage!
This one shows Dark Redd next to the iconic Bend Band 2011 stage!
While there wasn't many background ads in 2011, it wasn't until 2012 that they would start ramping up!
This is an advertisement for the 2012 Element Party, showcasing all the Karate elements at the time!
This one was one of the most iconic background adverts, and it was for my favorite party! Back in 2012, this was cool to see, since you never exactly saw The Island from far away.
This was an ad for the upcoming 1st Anniversary Party in February 2012, featuring Nedd on the right!
When Fellys saw this ad, I remember they were pretty excited to learn that they were going to be visiting Guitar Island for the very first time during the Music Festival in May 2012!
In July 2012, the Festival of Fire was the convo to have around The Island! New game, new mascot, epic decor- This ad only added more hype!
In late May 2012, this was the ad for the Mountain Climb!
In February 2013, when the 2nd Anniversary Party was going on, this was the background ad! Featuring a Crab and Felly in their new, early colored outline artstyle!
The ad for the Crab Party 2013 when it was currently going on, featuring Zachary!
An ad for the Element Party in October 2013, which teased Karate Lightning. It wouldn't release until August 2014.
This was the ad that showed up before the meteor struck the Dance Club in August 2013, leading to the first Operation: Superhero event!
